Skills Gap Mapper
Map the distance between your skills and a job you want.
You giveSkills from real job postings and a 0–3 self-rating for each
You getA gap map sorted into learn / prove / translate, with ways to close each
How the map sorts your skills
- Learn: rated 0 or 1. You’d need to build the skill.
- Prove: rated 2 or 3 but you can’t show evidence yet. A project, work sample, certification, or reference would close it.
- Translate: rated 2 or 3, no proof yet, but you’ve done it under another name. Rewrite how you describe it.
- Ready to show: rated 3 with proof, or 2 or more with proof.
Required skills are listed before preferred ones. Your list is saved in this browser only.
What it can’t tell you: self-ratings are hard to get right, and people changing careers often rate themselves too low. A second opinion from someone in the field helps. See the full skills-gap method.
