Accessibility

Everyone deciding what to learn next should be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our standard

We design and test toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. That includes:

  • Text colors that meet contrast requirements in light and dark themes.
  • Every control usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Touch targets sized for fingers, and no feature that depends on hovering.
  • Form fields with visible labels, hints, and specific error messages.
  • Diagrams and route maps with text alternatives, and tables that reflow on narrow screens.
  • Animation kept minimal, and switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

  • On small screens, the station labels on the home page map are hidden; the same guides are listed in text directly below it.
  • The Program Comparison Worksheet scrolls sideways on phones because comparing three programs needs three columns.
